Notes:

• This starter has a register diameter of 4.083" and the gear protrudes .62" past the mounting surface with the starter at rest.
• This starter is 7-11/16" long from the mounting surface to the end of the motor.
• The solenoid can be rotated to any position without taking the starter apart. We recommend positioning the solenoid under the starter motor and towards the oil pan. This makes it easier to connect the battery cable and keeps the solenoid away from exhaust heat.
• This starter replaces the early Ford "centrifugal" or "inertia" type starters that have a long shaft extending into the bellhousing.
• Ford FE engines that have been converted to the later 184 tooth ring gear use starter PN 3001.
